Moche ceramics from ancient Peru (100-800 AD) are closely tied to food, both functionally and symbolically. Many depict scenes of agriculture, fishing, and hunting, highlighting the importance of sustenance. Some vessels were used in rituals to store or serve food and drinks, symbolizing abundance and fertility. Through their pottery, the Moche celebrated their connection to nature and survival.
